No Promises

I’m not making any promises. When I leave for Tanzania in two weeks I may want to write about every little thing that I do and see and study, or I may be so busy just experiencing that I forget that people at home want to hear all about it.

I’m going to be in Arusha from August 6th until December 1st studying at the Nyerere Center for Peace Research through Arcadia University. The program will have only eight students in it, all from the US, but the professors are all Tanzanian. The focus of study will be on human rights, capacity building, current events in East Africa, international law in East Africa, healthcare in East Africa and Swahili language.

For those of you wondering, Arusha is the city I went to two summers ago. It is a city of about 270,000 (according to Wikipedia) and has a fascinating history of human rights and justice. I would recommend some googling on the subject!

Please send this to anyone who you think may be interested. I hope that I can provide some things to chew on over the coming months, but like I said – I’m not making any promises!
